World of Springfield

Released in USA by Playmates Toys

The Simpsons World of Springfield Assortment J Interactive environments by Playmates Toys is the Aztec Theatre w/ McBain.

Rainier Wolfcastle with Aztec Theatre Interactive Environment was originally scheduled to ship with Series 7 figures, in the same assortment as the Simpsons Kitchen. According to Playmates, "We were pretty far down the road with an Aztec Theatre interior during a premier of a Ranier Wolfcastle movie...but that was re-invented by the powers that be late on the development cycle." The postponement came so late, in fact, that stickers had to be manually placed over the name of the playset on Series 5 cardbacks. The black and white mock-up artwork (seen below) was shown to dealers in January, 2001 as part of Playmates' product solicitations. Thanks to Terry Sibert of Toy Fever for that image. The color sketch below is the current look for the set.
