Bongos Collide with UK Preorder

Forbidden Planet, one of the premier UK retailers of World of Springfield toys, has begun accepting preorders for the first Kay-Bee Toys exclusive Bongos three-pack. Their site features a brand new image of the figures and it is possible that they will be the only "direct" source for these figures outside of the U.S.

According to Diamond Comics' weekly shipping list, the following Simpsons items will be shipping this Wednesday to comic stores and other retailers who ordered them:

The recent flood of WoS merchandise comes to an end with the Prom set as does Michael Crawford MWC's flood of Simpsons reviews. Mr. Crawford gave the set two thumbs up and you can check out his site to read his complete review (located in the cartoon review section for the date 4/22/2002 if it's not on the front page).

The Springfield Friars Club performs a roast in Homer's honor to remember his adventures. Clips of past episodes will be shown, along with new material.... read more

SCS Logo Store and other Menu Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Check out our brand-new SCS Logo Store where you can purchase tshirts, mugs and more, emblazoned with a "WORST TSHIRT EVER" or "TRY ME!" logo.

We've also updated our menu a bit - you'll notice that the WoS Checklist and WoS Guide have been bumped up, along with the newly-renamed WoS Database and the Release Guide into a new Merchandise menu. Those items were previously accessible from the WoS Phrase Database or in the Features menu. We forgot to put up a news item the other day after we reinstated the keyword search box - OOPS!

SCS Toy Guru Michael Crawford MWC has received Rocket USA's new set of nine metal clickers (actually broken up into Series 1, Series 2, and Series 3) and reviewed them.
Check out the review (located in the cartoon review section for the date 4/18/2002 if it's not on the front page) to see what he thinks. Also take a look at his recent article "Banned Plastic" (under New Feature), which first appearred on Palisade's Toys site.

Following February's New York Toy Fair convention, there has been a growing media focus on the increasing popularity of Simpsons collectibles, especially the World of Springfield figures. Update (4/18):We now have reported sightings in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.

After flying out of Amazon's stockrooms, the Celebrity series Mobile Home playset has finally arrived on Toys R Us shelves. Member miscus555 and staffer blueduck37 both saw the set at the TRU flagship store in Times Square, NY. So far this is the only confirmed sighting, but keep your eyes peeled at your area store.
