Episode Mini-Figure Line Cancelled

We have just received word from Playmates customer service that future plans for the 3" Episode Mini-Figure line have been cancelled. The second series, consisting of a "Homer The Heretic" set and a "Brother from the Same Planet" set, was to be out in stores later this month.

Toys R Us To Ring In The New Year Soon

American Dream Comics has a number of great new boxed and loose images of the upcoming New Year's Eve playset, which is a an exclusive to Toys R Us and is priced at $39.99. The fact that we are seeing boxed images is a very good sign that this set should be in stores by the end of the month.

Playmates has revealed their plans for WoS rereleases in 2003, which are set to begin in March and will continue through the year in different ways. In addition, they revealed hot new info on the 300th Episode Set, Collector's Club possibilities, the future of WoS, and much more in the answers to our latest questions! Series 10 Now At TRU

WoS Series 10 figures have finally showed up at TRUs and so far, it appears that their cases have Hank Scorpio in place instead of Scout Leader Flanders. All the TRU sightings have been on the west coast, but all area stores should have them soon.

It's a rock & roll week for the Simpsons, who appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and jam with celebrities on tonight's 'official' season premiere at 8PM/7C. Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, Brian Setzer, Robbie Williams, and Lenny Kravitz voice themselves as Marge, who discovers Homer's dream of becoming a rock star, sends him to a Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp.

Supervillain Seizes Michael's Review Of The Week

Michael Crawford reviewed Series 10 a week ago, but he has a new review up tonight for the 7th figure in that series, Hank Scorpio. Scorpio is showing up in larger numbers and is a great figure by all accounts. MWC mostly seems to concur with that sentiment in his review (it is located in the cartoon review section for the date 11/08/2002 if it's not on the front page).

The Creepy Classics promotion may be winding down, but Burger King and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising have signed a major merchandising deal and more cool stuff is coming our way. According to Variety, new promotions will kick off this month and in December. SCS member mooselman sent word that the November promotion would include four talking Simpsons watches which may be offered in Value Meals with the Homer X-Treme Bacon Cheeseburger Whopper (see this press release more on this burger).
